Sustainable, Durable and Ethical Made in USA handbags

The most sustainable bag in the world is the one you already own.

At Crystalyn Kae, that idea has guided our design philosophy from the very beginning. Long before terms like circular fashion entered the conversation, we were designing bags meant to stay in use for years—experimenting with reclaimed materials, producing in small batches, and building products strong enough to cross the world and through the washing machine.

Research in product design suggests that 80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined long before it’s made: during the design phase itself. That’s why our approach focuses on thoughtful choices at every step: the materials we use, the craftsmanship that builds each bag, and the people behind its production.

Responsible Consumption & Production

Materials

The materials used in a product determine much of its environmental impact before it is ever made. That’s why we prioritize reclaimed textiles, vintage upholstery fabrics, and responsibly sourced materials whenever possible. Many of the fabrics used in Crystalyn Kae bags were originally produced for interiors, aviation, or luxury sampling programs—beautiful materials that deserve a second life.

Supporting Creative Livelihoods

People

Crystalyn Kae is proudly woman-owned and committed to supporting skilled makers and small-scale production in the United States. Most production partners work within 10 miles of our Seattle workshop, allowing us to collaborate closely and ensure high standards of craftsmanship.

Designed for Longevity

Craftsmanship

Our bags are made with thoughtful, deliberate craftswomanship. Every curve, stitch, and choice of material is guided by care: for quality, for sustainability, and for the long haul. When your bag has been by your side for years, the last thing we want is for it to end up in the landfill.

Even if you’ve had your bag for ages, we’re still here to offer affordable zipper and strap repairs to keep it going strong. If a repair no longer makes sense, we’ll help you find the next best path forward—like downcycling it in our studio.
