Precision Construction

Heritage zig-zag Technique

Each patchwork panel is cut and positioned to distribute tension and weight across the bag’s surface.

The zig-zag seam reinforces both materials, allowing leather and textile to move together rather than pull apart over time — a construction method designed for longevity, not decoration.

Patchwork Leather Bags

Each patchwork bag is hand-cut from reclaimed lambskin, cowhide, and heritage textiles, then joined on restored 1930s industrial machines.

Every panel is placed deliberately — balancing color, grain, and weight to create structure that lasts.

Patchwork, in our studio, is not scrap for scrap’s sake. It is a heritage construction method that demands technical skill and thoughtful composition.

Handcrafted in Seattle since 2001, Crystalyn Kae has built a reputation for thoughtful construction and responsible material sourcing.

Every bag begins with carefully selected reclaimed leather, heritage textiles, or coated canvas — then cut and sewn on restored industrial machines chosen for strength and precision. The result is not decoration, but design with intention: structure, longevity, and materials that grow more beautiful with wear.
