I dunno if you’ve been watching the news but on Thursday, Seattle was crippled with record-breaking snowfall with streets caked in thick ice. . .and we were told that round #2 is on it’s way. Sure enough, on our walk home yesterday from the post office, millions of tiny crystalline flakes of snow covered the sky. And now, 24 hours later, it really hasn’t stopped!
I’m sure that many of you are completely accustomed to this kind of snowfall – but Seattle, with it’s steep hills, certainly is not. I grew up on the ‘snowy’ side of Washington, and survived the snowy drifts and falling on my a$$ on the icy campus of WSU, but that was 12 years ago. So I too, am marveling at the immense pile of snow accumulating on our rooftop, patio and surface streets below. We have ventured out a few times around our neighborhood, and have marveled at the impromptu sledders on the hilly streets, cross-country skiers and the good souls that opened Bottleworks Beer Shop today.
