Materials
glaze-coated fabric:
Glazed fabric is created through a process in which upholstery-grade fabric is scuffed to raise the fibers, and then a sheer glaze is poured over the top. Once cured, the fabric is pressed with metal rollers and stretched to give a subtle crinkle to the glaze.
Each of the bags created with glazed fabric are sturdy, water-resistant and incredibly easy to care for, and are suitable for vegans and vegetarians, as it contains no animal hide. Our glazed fabric is lead-free.
Glazed fabric handbags can spot-cleaned with soap & water or washed inside a pillowcase on gentle cycle in the washing machine, and hung dry.
(Please do not put your bag in the dryer.)
vintage fabric:
Each of the vintage fabrics and rare textiles used in my designs are extremely limited edition. I hand-select, reinforce and gently coat the fabric with stain repellant, before it is sewn into my one-of-a-kind handbags. I favor atomic-era barkcloth and large florals - but also have a soft spot for fabulous taffeta, grosgrain, and prints from the 1940's - 70's.
genuine leather:
On exclusive occasions, Crystalyn Kae offers luxury leather handbags. A small selection of our classic handbags are available with vegetable tanned leather or recycled leather. Many feature braided straps and vintage fabric accents and are extremely limited-edition.
