To celebrate our 2 year wedding anniversary, Aaron and I took a 3 day trip to explore Long Beach, WA. The first day, we got a room within earshot of the ocean, and went for a l-o-n-g walk on the beach, where we spotted lots of jellyfish that had washed up on the shore. After the sun set, we searched for a restaurant for dinner, but by that time, the only thing open was an ice cream parlor. . .so ice cream for dinner it was!

On Monday, we explored Leadbetter state park at the northernmost tip of the peninsula, hiked a few miles from the marshy east bay to the ocean side, and spotted pelicans, snowy plovers and even a vulture! The vegetation, seashells and even the sand itself was unlike anything we’d seen anywhere else.

Today, we hiked to two different lighthouses at Cape Disappointment, before heading home to get a few orders in the mail. A lovely getaway that completed our last segment of our mission to see the entire Pacific Coastline of WA, OR, and CA. Sweet.
